Center Helping Obesity in Children End
The Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully, Inc, or C.H.O.I.C.E.S., is a grassroots organization formed in April 2002 to join the fight against the epidemic of childhood obesity. Serving Greater Atlanta, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. provides a parent and child resource center for children who have been clinically diagnosed or at risk of obesity. Its multi-faceted weight-management program includes nutrition education, physical fitness programs and training, peer socialization, community involvement and lifestyle changes.
Through collaborative partnerships with fitness trainers, physical and psychological health professionals, motivational speakers and dietitians, the Center aims to provide a safe, supportive environment for clinically diagnosed and at-risk children, with the inclusion of their parents through its program components.
Since its inception, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. has brought how to live healthy awareness to over 35,000 children, youth and adults. Additionally C.H.O.I.C.E.S. has made sustainable lifestyle change to over 420 families in their intensive behavior modification programs.
